The summit panorama
The Millenniumswarte crowns the summit of the Semmering Hirschenkogel at 1,340 metres. From the platform the view stretches far across the Vienna Alps — from the Raxalpe and Schneeberg in the north to the Wechsel range in the south.
Easily reached by cable car (or on foot) — the perfect photo stop and starting point for hikes, the Liechtensteinhaus and the Millennium Jump.

How to get up
On foot
From the valley station up the 3.5 km forest road to the summit — part of the 7 km loop (approx. 2 hrs, 344 m up, easy). Stop at the Liechtensteinhaus.Up the tower

How tall is the Millenniumswarte?
The wooden tower from 1999 (a.k.a. Dr.-Erwin-Pröll-Warte) stands 30.5 m tall — 155 steps lead to the viewing platform at 25 m, on the 1,340 m summit.
Does entry cost extra?
No — entry to the viewing platform is already included in the up-and-down ride, along with the Hirschi playground and hiking routes.
What can I see from the top?
A panorama over the Vienna Alps: the Raxalpe and Schneeberg to the north, the Wechsel range to the south — on a clear day as far as the Vienna basin, Lake Neusiedl and Hungary.
How do I get to the tower?
Comfortably by cable car or on foot — the tower stands right next to the top station and the ropes park, the perfect photo stop.
Is the tower open in winter?
No, the tower is closed during the winter months — though the views around the top station are still there for you.
What is the Millennium Jump at the tower?
The free fall from the jump tower at the very same spot — not for the faint-hearted, from age 14 and professionally supervised.
When is a visit most rewarding?
At sunrise in summer — especially beautiful, for instance on the guided sunrise hike.
